INARE (the Interdisciplinary Network for Abortion Rights and Ethics) has developed a Safe Abortion Healthcare Messaging Toolkit to equip doctors, nurses, midwives, and other health care providers with the tools to communicate about safe abortion care confidently, accurately, and compassionately.
The toolkit offers evidence-based guidance on Kenya’s legal framework, tested key messages, a myths-vs-facts guide, and practical strategies for navigating media interviews and public forums. Led by INARE, in partnership with the Africa Centre for Health Systems and Gender Justice and with support from the Safe Abortion Action Fund (SAAF), the toolkit reflects INARE’s commitment to ensuring that conversations about safe abortion care in Kenya are grounded in law, ethics, science, and respect for human rights.
